2012-07-08: My first stop was to visit a friend living near Necedeh National Wildlife Refuge. I had a list of birds that I wanted to photograph, and Necedeh has a few Whooping Cranes. My friend Bill was a great guide as we checked out a bunch of areas in the refuge looking for the cranes and other wildlife. Unfortunately the Whooping Cranes were nowhere to be found before I had to push on to the next destination. Birds 1, Scott 0.
