This trip started with a 13 hour flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong. We explored Hong Kong and the New Territories for a few days before taking the train to China's Hunan province in order to visit Zhangjiajie (Wulingyuan Scenic Area) and Fenghuang then to the Shanghai area to view a total solar eclipse on July 22, 2009.
