- 2016-02-24: We arrived late in the afternoon in Malino, and the driver took me right to the spot for the Lompobattang Flycatcher spot. I may have got some unsatisfactory views of the flycatcher, and most of the birds were very afraid. They flew away the moment they saw me.
- 2016-02-25: I made another trip to the forest starting in the morning. This time the intention was to traverse the forest and get picked up on the other side. A guy called Raja showed me the way along with a dog that would not stop barking. "He good eat" was the only English that Raja spoke to me. Dogs were very excited to see the exciting marshy spot in the path being grazed by a cow. The chigger bites that I got were still itching nearly three weeks later...
