Short car trip to try and see the Portage Glacier which was fogged in.

Visits

  • 2010-05-27: After our flight to Anchorage, we rented a car to camp out for a couple of nights near the Portage glacier. The next day we tried to hike up to the top of the Exit Glacier in Kenai Fiords National Park. The trail to the glacier was too snowy to continue, but we did see a black bear and a moose.
  • 2014-07-21: Another attempt to get to the Harding Ice Field this time with kids and Grandpa waiting, so in the end, it was going to take too long to get to the top. So, we stopped at the bear again this time...
