A pretty large lake and a couple of puddles just outside of Otavalo. To get to the lagunas, you travel through some cloud forest, but at the lake, it is paramo and a small amount of podocarpus forest.

12/14/2006: Barbara and I took a taxi with a couple of other people from out hotel. We walked around the main mountain here. I was able to call in to the taxi driver using my cell phone from the high ground.
