Trips

Eastern Australia

11/10/2012: Our next part of the journey was to tackle the famous "Bloomfield Track" which is supposed to be this rugged 4X4 track. Maybe there is something to that during the rainy season, but other than a lot of dust, there was little to stop a careful driver from driving the road in their front wheel drive economy rental car...

Anyway, Mike was in a hurry to get somewhere, and we passed up all the canned tourist destinations on the way to Cape Tribulation. We did stop for a bit on a sandy mangrove fringed area which was pretty cool. The whole "4X4" part of the road lasted for about 30 minutes before we arrived on the paved portion of the highway.
