There is little information available on the abundance of this species, but is was reported as common in 1979 along tidal marshes near Pak Hok Chau (Murphy 2007).

2009-07-15Hong Kong Wetland Park, Hong KongSeen in the mangrove tidal area. Not 100% sure of the species, but seemed most likely of snakes reported in park.
