Visits
- 2017-01-04: After acquiring some tropical food poisoning type illness, the trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest was quite the adventure. The place where we chose to stay (Cuckooland, awesome spot) just happened to be down a huge incline, and it was worth every painful step to get there. The tent seemed to be perched in the treetops, and chimpanzees could be heard screaming in the distance.
- 2017-01-05: I was absolutely wrecked from the stomach illness that I had acquired. I did not sleep much, and on one of the many trips in the dark outside to the restroom, I cut my foot. I skipped breakfast, and I was barely able to climb the hill to the car park for my scheduled grueling hike to the Mabwindi Swamp. When I arrived in Ruhija for the hike, however, I was unable to bring myself to cancelling the hike. So, five hours later, I crawled out of the forest feeling barely alive. And after all that, I did not really get many good photos in the thick forest...
- 2017-01-06: After another fun night of food poisoning, our car seems to have broken down in the morning. All good as Cuckooland was the best place that we stayed. We spent the whole morning waiting around for a mechanic to fix the car which never happened...
