: After a long series of flights from Longyearbyen to Tromso to Oslo to Las Palmas to Fuerteventura, we drove over to the northwest portion of the island. We were in search of bustards and also a restaurant that we heard about from one of our eclipse group.
We had been searching for the bustard amongst bustard-colored rocks, shrubs, and sand for quite awhile before finding one less than ten feet away from where we were looking.
