Cloud Forest in Western Dominican Republic.

Visits

  • 2014-01-20: We started off from our cabin in Puerto Escondido at 5:30 AM in order to arrive at the cloud forest at dawn. The road was reasonably bad, but I was able to make it to the site without use of the 4x4. We were greated on arrival by the singing of the clarines which have probably the coolest song of any birds. We parked near the national park building and walked along the road for several miles up into the pine forests.
