• 2013-01-28: After crossing the border from Vietnam, I had a good feeling about what looked like some casinos on the horizon. We had some negotiating difficulties getting across the border as we had Vietnamese money and the money changer had closed shop for the night. We ended up paying all of our Vietnamese Dong and some US Dollars as well. A short walk later, we were standing in a casino and checking in for the night. This was a great victory as we were worried that we would be spending the night in our tent at the border post. We could have watched the guy with the BB gun shoot the last living bird in Vietnam. After showering, we went into the casino to try and score some food. When we walked on to the gambling floor, the gaming stopped for a moment to give everyone a chance to stare gape-jawed at us.
