Visits

  • 2013-01-22: The next stop on the Dalat on 1/2 shoe per day tour was the Langbiang Mountain to the north of town. After a circuitous cab ride, we then had the fortune of paying for a jeep to take us to the trailhead for the forest. We walked for a couple of miles through a pine forest before coming to the hill full of some giant rainforest trees. Climbing up further, you get to a small clearing on the peak from where you can see all of the Dalat area On the way back to civilization, we had to walk a few miles back to the trailhead and then to the park entrance. After yesterdays shoe debacle, I tried this hike wearing sandals. The sandals performed better than the shoes I bought in Nha Tranh, but by the end of the hike, they had ripped. During our hike, we met some guy wearing some real hiking shoes, but when I asked him where to buy those kinds of shoes in Vietnam, he told us that he had purchased them in Singapore...
