Site Report: Lijiang - Black Dragon Pool

• 2013-01-07: We left early from Tacheng to visit Lijiang which is famous for the "old town". We got dropped off at the Black Dragon Pool. We walked around the pools for a bit, but we were too late to walk up the mountain which it seems is the thing to do here. After the walk in the park, we walked around town in Lijiang, and we were even able to get a mediocre pizza in town. Lijiang was probably the most touristy location that I have seen in China, the old town was basically a tourist mall. On the way home, we managed to get lost looking for our hotel (in the dark, stray dogs drooling...) Luckily, I had a phone number for the hotel, and the owner came to get us!
