Resort Town a couple of hours north of Salvador.
Visits
- 2011-07-25: Killing a couple of days before my flight home, I read that there are some possibly rare marmoset monkeys here. So, we drove right on through Salvador to the monkey town. The town itself is your standard bland tourist trap with a nice beach and 800 pizza places. There is a swank tourist strip, and then one block away is where some locals hang out. On the outskirts of town is a lagoon and some forest set aside as a reserve. The marmosets are in town and also in the forest. Surprisingly, there were very few birds in the lagoon.
