Tahiti is the largest island in French Polynesia. The island has a fairly dense population along the coasts, but the center of the island is mostly nature (and many introduced plants)
Visits
- 2010-07-13: After our trip to see the solar eclipse on Anaa, we spent three nights on the main island of Tahiti. Activities included scuba diving to a shipwreck and a crashed airplane near the end of the airport runway, hiking into a valley on the west side of the island to find the Tahiti Monarch, hiking into the Papenoo Valley, and eating at the trucks in Papeete.
