Bronzed Cowbird (Molothrus aeneus)
Lerma Marsh is one of the areas featured in Howell's A Bird Finding Guide To Mexico as a good place to see black-polled yellowthroats. A new addition to the area is an ecological park near the town of Almoloya del Rio.
Visits
- 2010-02-21: We took a quick detour to the marshes on our trip from Taxco to the airport in Toluca. It wasn't too hard to find the marsh, but we made the mistake of not going into the ecological park. Most of the birdlife was concentrated in the area around the park including several thousand ducks.
