This lake is part of an ancient park now surrounded by urban China.
Visits
- 2009-07-23: After the eclipse, we headed into Hangzhou to check out the tidal bore. That turned out to be a real bore, indeed. There was absolutely nothing worth seeing on the river, and the highlight was the downpour of rain that finally broke the heat wave. The next day, Barbara and I had to return to Hangzhou in order to catch a train to Shanghai for our flight home. We decided to stay for a night and check out the lake. It was certainly a nice enough area, and we were lucky enough to see a wild squirrel!
