Visits
- 2009-03-14: From the Rio Paca campsite, we walked for much of the day to get to Cruce de Mono. The campsite seemed a bit quiet except for a nest of Bright-rumped Attila found by Ivan. As I waited for the parents to bring food to the hatchlings, I noticed a vine had started to move. It was a snake! After everyone had a good look at the snake, it started slithering up the very tree with the nestling Bright-rumped Attilas. The snake ate two of the three nestlings before all was said and done. Normally, I try not to overdo it with too many photos, but in this case, I am documenting the entire event. The Attila is no angel either as it was feeding frogs to the babies. Part of our dinner consisted of fish from the river including savoleta, copatona, and guacuco.
