This camp is 1500 meters or so above Cana Station. It took us several hours to walk to the campsite, but the hike through the forest was not overly strenuous. At the campsite, there is an overlook where most of the birds were spotted. Walking further up the mountain there is a cloud forest habitat.
Visits
- 2009-03-11: We arrived at a bench deep in the rainforest which I declared to be the border of the station. We arrived in the camp by early afternoon... enough time to explore the forest around the campsite. The life inside the forest was fairly muted, but the campsite area was very productive in birds, insects, and a rainforest mouse. The next morning, we climbed to the higher elevation area of the mountain. It was pretty foggy/rainy on the mountain, and we did not see much fauna. Flora was prolific, however, with dozens of plant species growing on a single tree. I was late departing the camp in my attempt to photograph the endemic Pirre Bush Tanager
