The one thing I have to say about this town is that there is a lot of loud music. On the other hand, you can see scarlet macaws flying around in the town.

Visits

  • 2009-02-24: We arrived in Puerto Jiminez after a long bus ride and adventures in Central Costa Rica. After some effort, we were able to find a room for the night. The next day, after a morning hike, we arranged our permits and meals for La Sirena. That was a time-consuming job requiring a special trip to the bank. By afternoon, we were ready to catch a bus/taxi combo to the trailhead into Los Patos. After our visit to Corcovado, we spent an additional night in town arriving in the back of a truck from the coastal village of Carate. Early the next morning, we were on our way to Panama.
