A cay is a flat narrow sand bar island which describes Cay Caulker perfectly. This is a good base for snorkeling and scuba trips due to the easy access, clear water, and protected reefs.

Visits

  • 2009-01-22: We took a ferry from Belize City to the cay so that Barbara could snorkel in blue water. It is very organized on the cay, and we easily found various snorkeling tours. Some of the reefs in the area have been protected from fishing for over 20 years, and the snorkeling was excellent. We did a night snorkeling trip and another trip to Hol Tun Marine Reserve.
