Cape Point is a famous and dramatic point just south of Cape Town in Southwestern South Africa. It is a pretty developed tourist location, but we were still able to find some good remote hiking. This site covers all areas south of Cape Town.

Visits

  • 2002-12-29: I arrived here a few days before Barbara returned from her Christmas vacation. One of the highlights was climbing Table Mountain. On New Year's Day, I picked Barbara up from the airport, and we visited the penguins of Simon's Town and the cape. We tried camping on the beach, but we had some trouble from high winds. Barbara got a really bad sunburn at Cape Point.
