Visits

2026-04-13: After our 26 hour delay on Bolivian Airlines, we finally arrived in Trinidad. From there it was a fairly easy journey to the lodge on the Ibare River. They boat ride was very scenic with a good variety of birds and monkeys en route. We barely missed seeing some river dolphins near the lodge. We arrived at the lodge at sunset, greeted by dogs, macaws, a monkey, and 10 million mosquitoes.
2026-04-14: We were up before sunrise tramping around in the nearby swamp. The guide nearly stepped on an anaconda. There was a huge cloud of mosquitoes following us around. After the morning walk, we boated around in the area to see what we could find.
2026-04-15: We took the big boat to the bigger river, Rio Mamare. The day included swimming in the river near the river dolphins.
