- 2025-08-09: After visiting the marsh in Kuala Lumpur, I started the drive to the hills. There was a lot of traffic, and the GPS was not very accurate with directions, but eventually I found my way to the Japanese Gardens. While walking around, I stumbled upon the blind where people had been seeing partridges and the peacock-pheasant, and immediately flushed the partridges. Fortunately, they returned a few minutes later. I stayed in a weird nearby hotel. As I looked out the window, I was shocked to recognize that a shape in the tree was not quite right, and it turned out to be a couple of Siamang.
- 2025-08-10: Got up for an early morning visit to look for the peacock-pheasant. After a bit of a wait, it showed up for some good photos.
