Hill

Visits

  • 2025-07-14: We met up with Pablo again for the journey to the hilltop near Saraguro. After leaving quite early, it turns out there was another landslide. This time, the slide was completely blocking the road. Our taxi driver ditched us at the roadblock. Pablo managed to get us a ride to the edge of the landslide. There were a bunch of people who had crossed the landslide from the other side waiting for transportation. Anyway, we were able to cross over to the Saraguro side along with our bags. We sent Barbara off to Saraguro while Pablo and I grabbed a ride to the top of the hill. The weather was a little iffy for awhile, and at first, we did not see much on top of the hill. As the day progressed, we did get some better views. We ended up walking most of the way back to Saraguro.
