- 2025-07-12: We got an early start to go up to the top of Cerro Toledo to look for the Nublina Metaltail. When we got to the top, however, we found just about the worst weather that you could imagine. Not only was it foggy, cold, and raining, but it was also extremely windy. We got out of the car to walk around for a bit, but it was pretty much pointless. The drive back down the mountain did not result in seeing much either. This was starting to look like a wasted day, and we gave up to continue the journey to Tapichalaca.
