2025-04-10: We went up toward the top of the island looking for a trailhead to get into the forest. I was hoping to find the endemic Montserrat Oriole. This was quite a dense forest, and I was a little worried that we would not find anything. Instead, there was an oriole in the tree right next to us at one point. A few hours after visiting this place, it was discovered that our legs were COVERED by bites. I believe that the bites were chiggers, which are my least favorite biting arthropod.
2025-04-11: We came for another trip into the mountain hoping to get a better photograph of the oriole. Also, we had until afternoon to catch the flight back to Antigua.
