Trail through the forest

Visits

  • 2025-04-07: We stayed the next few nights in Portsmouth, and from there, it was pretty simple to drive up to the Syndicate Nature Trail. This is the place where some people have seen the Imperial Parrot in the past. It was very difficult to get good looks at any of the parrots as they were generally green and far away. The Imperial Parrot did not make an appearance while we were there.
  • 2025-04-08: We went to make another try for the Imperial Parrot, this time with the local bird guide. We pretty much went to all the same places as the day before, and again, we did not see the parrot. There were a couple of times where we heard the call of the bird, supposedly. In the end, it was not a very satisfying observation. We came back later in the afternoon, but it was very windy. Some guy was at the overlook claiming to see the Imperial Parrot, but alas, it was a regular Red-necked Parrot.
