• 2025-04-03: For today's adventure, we drove over some very twisty narrow roads to the higher elevations of the island. There are a few trails where you can walk through a very pristine cloud forest. We were looking for the Blue-headed Hummingbird and the oriole. We did not see the oriole on the first stop, and we had been waiting quite some time at the second stop without seeing the oriole. It was starting to get late in the morning, and it was still not around. I was beginning to think we were going to miss the oriole on our short trip, but in the end, it showed up for about 15 seconds on a nearby banana tree. We were not finding the hummingbird easily, either, but eventually there were a couple next to the trail that appeared between frequent heavy rain.
