• 2025-04-02: Island Time meets Laissez Faire. We arrived at the apartment that we had booked online only to find a note asking to call the owner for entry. We still had not acquired a SIM card, so now we were locked out of the place. We did find a pizza place down the street who let us use their wifi, but by then it took us over an hour to get the keys. This is all despite my messages to the property owner the previous day. Anyway, we headed over to the end of the road where there are some hiking trails, now we are mainly looking out for the Martinique Oriole. We did not see the oriole, but on our way out of the park, we did see a flyover White-tailed Nightjar. When we got back to the house, i noticed that I had lost something in the parking lot. So, I made the 15 minute drive back to the park to look for it, only to find it under the floor mat in the car. On the way back to the house, there were many potentially suicidal opossoms on the road.
