- 2025-02-28: We had a night in Fes to wait for the train that would take us back to Spain. I had been in Fez in 1997, and my memories of constant scams continues in 2025. A bunch of guys stand around and tell you that some street is "closed" or other lies to try and get you to hire them as a guide. We were having none of it, so instead, we wandered around lost deflecting constant touts. What a nightmare. In 1997, there was hashish everywhere in Morocco, especially Fes. Seems like Moroccans have mostly kicked their smoking habits, though. Only one person tried to sell me drugs while we were at Fes.
