Visits

  • 2025-02-07: We headed into Tanga as we were going to get on the ferry to Pemba the next day. After checking in at a convent, we made a visit to a nearby cave.
  • 2025-02-08: In the morning, we arrived to the ferry terminal for the trip to Pemba. Some official guys told us about the scam where the Pemba immigration makes you buy local evacuation insurance even if you have proof of coverage from a 3rd party. Anyway, despite the grift, we decided to take the ferry over to Pemba. I was lucky to get some photos of the Water Thick-knee before they threatened to kick me off the ferry for photographing the port. I was hoping for some seabirds on the crossing, but there was nothing much once we got offshore.
