Visits

  • 2024-07-17: After the last trip to the far east, I was determined to avoid the 17 hour flight from San Francisco to Singapore. Instead, I opted for a 13 hour flight to Taipei along with a long layover. I was hoping to get photos of some of the many endemic Taiwan species. Arrival at Taipei was pretty easy, and I was off in no time on the MRT to visit the botanical gardens. Unfortunately, there was the usual July heat wave, and even at 7 in the morning, it was extremely hot and humid. I walked all around the gardens looking for activity, and I found a few things to take pictures of. By the time 9AM rolled around, it was already quiet, and I retreated to the aircon of the MRT.
