- 2024-04-07: After a long drive, we found out that there are no Sunday afternoon alcohol sales in Coahuila state. After trying several stores, we finally found a place to buy beer just across the border in Durango state. We rented a ranch with a few of our friends, and we arrived just in time to avoid night-time driving.
- 2024-04-08: Today was the day of the solar eclipse. The weather had turned slightly nasty with a thin cloud cover above Torreon. We all piled into four cars and drove south toward a blue patch of sky. Just before the eclipse, we found ourselves more or less under the blue sky. Following the eclipse, we went for lunch at a nearby reservoir. The waitress dropped many plates of food with a loud crash and broken plates and glasses everywhere.
- 2024-04-09: Our last day at the ranch, I went with Tony and Jasper to buy a clean shirt for the plane ride home.
