Thorn forest on the coast

Visits

  • 2024-03-30: We tried to stop by the Europcar office, but their help was not to fix the tire but rather to charge me a bunch of money to switch to a crappier car. Eventually, I gave up on this, and I got an emergency tire from one of the roadside tire repair. We drove over to our accommodation where we were able to follow a dirt road into the forest for awhile.
  • 2024-03-31: We woke up early to do the other trail to the coast. After a few wrong turns and a long walk in the hot weather, we arrived at a nice beach. On the way back, we hitched a ride to the entrance. We then drove across town to another beach. This beach was truly awful with a giant hotel looming in the background. It wasn't too far to walk to get away from the hotel. Nearby was a spot where a Northern Potoo had been recently sighted. We went to the place down a bad road and in the middle of a bunch of tangles. We did not see the Potoo.
