Ancient Zapotec ruins

Visits

  • 2024-03-27: After a night mingling with thousands of tourists in Central Oaxaca, we left early to visit the ancient site of Yagul. We got there to find another blocked off road, but this time we figured that we could walk around the gate to get higher up, following where a bird guide and his clients had gone. The other group was out of there before the gate opened, and they skipped out on paying the admission fee. This ruin was quite a bit different than Monte Alban as we were the only people visiting the place.
