Site Report: Kyoto - Botanical Gardens

• 2024-02-29: After the temple visit, we walked for awhile to catch a train to catch a bus to walk to the botanical gardens. Barbara was hoping to see some flowering trees. I was still looking high and low for Japanese Waxwings. We got off the bus to find that we were in the only neighborhood in Japan without shops or vending machines. It was raining and cold in the garden, but at least it was not overrun by foreign tourists like many other places in Kyoto. I wonder if that all changes when the cherry trees are blooming.
