Visits

  • 2023-07-27: I decided it was worth it to take a taxi from Quito to Mindo. It was a good time to practice speaking Spanish with the taxi driver. In the afternoon, I walked around on the roads next to the hotel.
  • 2023-07-28: I headed over with the guide to a place where some piculets were reported nesting. We found them quickly for some good photos. After, we headed over to the river to look for the Coopman's Elaenia which we also found very quickly.
  • 2023-07-29: In the afternoon, I walked around in the reserve at my hotel looking for some reported Capuchin monkeys. I think I might have heard the monkeys, but I could not find them or much of anything else. On my way back to the room, I heard some woodpecker drumming, and I was able to locate the Guayaquil Woodpecker.
