About The Eurasian Linnet

Linnets have a dull color in the winter, but in the summer the males get a notable reddish breast. Linnets eat mostly small to middle-sized seeds, which they look for on the ground or peck out of thistles and dandelions. You see them in the Netherlands throughout the year. Those that nest here often migrate in the winter to southern Spain and Marocco. But the birds that brood in more northern countries often migrate to the Netherlands. There are fewer linnets here in the winter than in the summer, particularly during severe winters.
