The Aleutian Tern breeds in the north Pacific Ocean on the coasts of Sakhalin and Kamchatka,
Russia, on the Bering and Pacific coasts of Alaska (
USA) and on the Aleutian Islands (USA). It is strongly migratory, wintering off
Indonesia and
Malaysia1.
