Dryolimnas cuvieri occurs on
Madagascar and the Aldabra Islands,
Seychelles (del Hoyo
et al. 1996). The subspecies
abbotti, known from the Seychelles island of Assumption, went extinct in the early 20th century (Taylor and van Perlo 1998). The species has also been extirpated from Mauritius (del Hoyo
et al. 1996).
