1/27/2013: After several days in the jungle, I was looking forward to Ho Chi Minh City mainly because it was my last hope for finding some replacement shoes. As luck would have it, I found a store that had a bunch of aftermarket hiking shoes. After a lot of examination, I determined that the shoes were the real deal or factory samples at the worst.

With shoes on the feet, it was time to leave Vietnam and head north to Cambodia. On the way, we thought, was a museum with reconstructed tunnels from the Vietnam war. We were given the nationalist war video screening before seeing some of these tunnels as well as various booby traps used against the American soldiers.

We were trying to arrange a taxi from this area to the border, but, yet again, we had some trouble with the taxi services and bait and switch quotes. We ended up riding a bus most of the way to the border, where we arrived after the border closing time.
