Trips

Around The World in 66 Days

1/23/2013: We stopped in the village of Ta Nung to check out the cricket farm and the silkworm farm. The cricket farm consisted of a bunch of bins full of crickets, can you believe that! After looking at the cricket, there was an opportunity to eat a cricket dipped in sriracha sauce.

The silkworm farm had a bit more to see. We got a tour of the factory, and we got to see the life cycle of the silkworm, from moths mating and laying eggs in a box to the silkworms being boiled alive in their cocoons to the loom making cloth. There was an opportunity to eat the boiled silkworms as well, and they had a very greasy taste.

The final stop in Ta Nung was the Elephant Falls. There is a rickety path down to the waterfall viewing spot.
