This is the built-up area along the border and Inter-American Highway. The habitat in the area is pasture land and dry forest.

Trips

Mexico to Panama 2/17/2009: After a fairly smooth border crossing on the Nicaragua side, we spent five hours waiting to get through the Costa Rica side of the border. The level of incompetence was astounding. I tried to bribe one of the border guards with a twenty, but that only nearly got me arrested.
