Trips

Mexico to Panama

1/29/2009: We arrived in Flores later at night after getting shafted for our ride by Cesar Carrera and San Juan Travel. So, we stayed in some dingy overpriced hotel on the lakefront, and unfortunately, trusted the Lonely Planet for a restaurant recommendation. The next morning was a little better, however, as we found out about a local restaurant from the receptionist at the hotel. And we were lucky to see a couple of bat falcons perched on the television antenna on top of the hotel. Other than that, I could not wait to leave Flores. If you are a big fan of old colonial towns full of shops selling the future trash of America (AKA, souvenirs), you might like it here, but I find that kind of place to be especially boring.
