Playa de los Reyes, also known as Peso Island is a long sandy island about 100 meters from San Blas. I paid a guy with a boat 20 pesos to drive me to the other side. The other side consists of a small farm with a bakers dozen of zebu cattle, some shrubby areas next to a road which leads up a hill to the lighthouse, and a very long flat sandy beach. Sprinkle in a couple of jejenes, and you have the perfect habitat for shorebirds.
1/7/2008: In the two hours I spent on the island, I found Elegant Trogon, American Oystercather, Peregrine Falcon, Common Black Hawk, Sanderling, Willet, Brown Pelican, Laughing Gull, Gull-billed Tern, Whimbrel, Black-bellied Plover, Royal Tern, Bell's Vireo
